- 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour and salt for the crust. Cut in butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add ice water, one tablespoon at a time, mixing until the dough forms a ball. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground sausage until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
- In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, heavy cream, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Stir in the cooked sausage and cheeses until well combined.
- Roll out the chilled dough and fit it into a 9-inch pie pan. Pour the filling into the crust.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the filling is set and the top is golden brown. The pie should be slightly puffed and firm to the touch.
- Let it cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
