- 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- 1 cup whipped cream
- 1 tsp vanilla
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C), and prepare your cake pan by greasing and flouring it.
- Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy, around 3-5 minutes.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the milk and vanilla extract until well mixed.
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in another bowl.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to your wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan, then bake for 25-30 minutes.
- Allow the cake to cool completely before removing it from the pan.
- Beat together the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth, then fold in the whipped cream and a teaspoon of vanilla.
- Slice the cooled cake in half horizontally and spread the cream filling on the bottom layer.
- Garnish your cake with caramel sauce and toppings like crushed nuts or chocolate shavings.
