Description
Indulge in the rich, velvety texture of Caramel Apple Jam, where the sweetness of ripe apples meets the buttery, caramel notes. Each spoonful offers a delightful balance of tart and sweet, with a smooth finish that lingers on the palate.
Ingredients
- Apples: 4 cups, peeled, cored, and diced
- Sugar: 2 cups
- Brown Sugar: 1 cup
- Unsalted Butter: 1/2 cup
- Lemon Juice: 1/4 cup
- Ground Cinnamon: 1 teaspoon
- Vanilla Extract: 1 teaspoon
- Pectin: 1 package (1.75 oz)
Instructions
- In a large pot, combine the diced apples, lemon juice, and ground cinnamon. Cook over medium heat for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until the apples soften.
- Add the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and butter to the pot. Stir until the butter melts and the sugars dissolve, about 5 minutes.
- Bring the mixture to a rolling boil, then add the pectin. Stir continuously for 1-2 minutes until the jam thickens.
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- Pour the hot jam into sterilized jars, leaving 1/4 inch headspace. Seal with lids and process in a boiling water bath for 10 minutes.
- Let the jars cool completely before storing them in a cool, dark place.
Notes
- This jam can be made ahead and stored for up to a year if properly sealed.
- Store opened jars in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.
- For a spicier flavor, consider adding a pinch of nutmeg or ginger.
- Use honey instead of sugar for a natural sweetener option.
