  • 2 lbs sweet potatoes
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup toasted pecans
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Peel and slice the sweet potatoes into rounds about ½ inch thick.
  3. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat, then add the brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt, stirring until smooth and bubbly.
  4. Arrange the sweet potato slices in a single layer in a baking dish and pour the butter mixture over them.
  5. Cover with foil and bake for about 30 minutes.
  6. Remove the foil, sprinkle the toasted pecans over the top, and bake for an additional 15 minutes until caramelized and bubbly.
