Description
Delightful candied orange peel coated in rich chocolate, perfect for gifting or enjoying with a cup of tea.
Ingredients

- 4 large oranges
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 2 cups water
- 8 oz dark or milk chocolate
Instructions
- Peel the oranges and cut the peels into thin strips, removing some of the bitter white pith if desired.
- In a saucepan, mix equal parts sugar and water and heat until the sugar dissolves to create syrup.
- Add orange peel strips to the syrup and simmer on low heat for about 45 minutes until tender and translucent.
- Remove the peels with a slotted spoon and place them on a wire rack to cool completely.
- Melt the chocolate in a double boiler or microwave until smooth.
- Dip each candied peel into the melted chocolate, coating them well.
- Set the chocolate-covered peels on parchment paper to harden completely.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks. For two months, refrigerate them.
