Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. Cream the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition.
  4. Stir in the fresh orange zest.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the ground almonds, flour, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing gently until combined.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
