Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
- Cream the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition.
- Stir in the fresh orange zest.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the ground almonds, flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing gently until combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
