Description
Butter Chicken (Murgh Makhani) is a rich and creamy Indian dish made with marinated chicken cooked in a spiced tomato sauce.
Ingredients

			- 1 lb chicken, boneless and skinless
 - 1 cup yogurt
 - 2 tablespoons lemon juice
 - 2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
 - 1 teaspoon garam masala
 - 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
 - 1 teaspoon red chili powder
 - 2 tablespoons butter
 - 1 onion, finely chopped
 - 1 can (15 oz) tomato puree
 - 1 cup heavy cream
 - Salt to taste
 - Fresh cilantro for garnish
 
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken in yogurt, lemon juice, ginger-garlic paste, garam masala, turmeric, and red chili powder for at least 1 hour.
 - Heat butter in a pan and sauté the chopped onion until golden brown.
 - Add the marinated chicken and cook until browned.
 - Stir in the tomato puree and simmer for 15 minutes.
 - Pour in the heavy cream and cook for an additional 10 minutes.
 - Season with salt and garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
 
Notes
- For a spicier version, increase the amount of red chili powder.
 - Serve with naan or rice for a complete meal.
 - Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
