Ingredients

- 1/4 cup brown sugar

Instructions
- Prepare the carrots: Peel and cut them into uniform pieces.
- Melt the butter in a medium skillet over medium heat.
- Coat the carrots in melted butter by stirring gently.
- Add the brown sugar to the skillet, allowing it to combine with the butter.
- Develop tenderness by adding water and covering the skillet to steam the carrots for 10-15 minutes.
- Thicken the glaze by uncovering and cooking for a few more minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper, then serve warm.
Notes
Can be prepared a day in advance and reheated. Substitute honey or maple syrup for brown sugar to vary sweetness.
