Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Casserole:
    • 2 pounds ground beef
    • 1 medium onion, diced
    • 1 cup pickles, chopped
    • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
    • 1 cup shredded lettuce
    • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
    • 1 tablespoon onion powder
    • Salt and pepper to taste
  • For the Tater Tot Layer:
    • 32 ounces frozen tater tots
  • For the Special Sauce:
    • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
    • 1/4 cup ketchup
    • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
    • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
    • 1 tablespoon sugar
    • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 1 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and diced onion until the beef is browned and the onion is translucent, about 8-10 minutes.
  3. Drain excess fat and stir in garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Remove from heat.
  4. In a large baking dish, spread the cooked beef mixture evenly across the bottom.
  5. Sprinkle chopped pickles and shredded cheese over the beef layer.
  6. Layer the frozen tater tots on top of the cheese, arranging them evenly.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy.
  8. While the casserole is baking, mix together the mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, vinegar, sugar, garlic powder, and onion powder in a bowl to create the special sauce.
  9. Once the casserole is done, remove it from the oven and let it cool for 5 minutes before drizzling with the special sauce and topping with shredded lettuce.
