- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup cooked and crumbled bacon
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
- In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Stir in the flour and cook for about 1 minute.
- Gradually whisk in the milk, cooking until the mixture thickens.
- Add the cheddar and mozzarella cheeses, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper; stir until the cheese is melted.
- Combine the cheese sauce with the cooked macaroni and crumbled bacon.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and top with breadcrumbs.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add some grated Parmesan cheese on top before baking.
