Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 cups apples, peeled and diced
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together flour, oats, brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. Add the softened butter and mix until crumbly.
  4. Press half of the mixture into the bottom of a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  5. In another bowl, combine diced apples, lemon juice, and cornstarch. Mix well.
  6. Spread the apple mixture over the crust in the baking dish.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining crumble mixture on top of the apples.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
  9. Allow to cool before cutting into bars.

Notes

  • For a sweeter taste, add more sugar to the apple mixture.
  • Serve warm with vanilla ice cream for an extra treat.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
